On February 11, 2025, STAAR issued a press release reporting its financial results for the fourth quarter and full year 2024.  Among other items, for the quarter, STAAR reported GAAP earnings per share of -$0.69, missing consensus estimates by $0.55, and revenue of $48.95 million, missing consensus estimates by $28.52 million.  The Company attributed its results to "fluctuating demand in China". 

On this news, STAAR's stock price fell $5.40 per share, or 24.68%, to close at $16.48 per share on February 12, 2025.
