Despite management's prior optimistic statements, the Company downplayed the poor results, attributing the outcome to the Phase 2 nature of the trial and suggesting improvements in a future Phase 3 study.

Following this disclosure, Altimmune's stock plunged 53%, from a close of $7.71 per share on June 25, 2025, to a close of $3.61 on June 26, 2025, causing heavy losses for investors.
