EQS-Adhoc: thyssenkrupp nucera selected by PGS as preferred supplier for 1.4 GW hydrogen project in Australia

thyssenkrupp nucera has been selected by Australia's Progressive Green Solutions (PGS) as the preferred supplier of electrolysers with a total capacity of 1.4 gigawatts for the production of green hydrogen for the Mid-West Green project in Western Australia.

PGS plans to use the hydrogen to produce green iron pellets and green hot briquetted iron (HBI). The process will be powered entirely by renewable energy and green hydrogen. This is expected to significantly reduce CO2 emissions compared to traditional steel production.

thyssenkrupp nucera will continue to develop the project, which is currently still in an early planning phase, together with the customer and work toward signing an EPF (engineering, procurement, fabrication) contract. The realization of the project is subject to a final investment decision (FID). This project is not expected to have any relevant impact on thyssenkrupp nucera's sales and earnings before fiscal year 2026/27.
