Pennsylvania American Water Proudly Recognizes 10 American Water Charitable Foundation State Strategic Impact Grantees

Recipients across the Commonwealth receive $100,000 in total funding

MECHANICSBURG, Pa., Dec. 30, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Water Charitable Foundation, a philanthropic non-profit organization established by American Water (NYSE: AWK), the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., and Pennsylvania American Water, announced today that the Foundation awarded State Strategic Impact Grants to 10 organizations across the Commonwealth, totaling $100,000 in funding.

This generous investment helps ensure that individuals and families across our region have reliable access to nutritious food and essential resources," said Jennifer Warabak, executive director for Commission on Economic Opportunity, one of the 2025 grant recipients. The State Strategic Impact grant is part of the Foundation's 2025 Keep Communities Flowing Grant Program, focusing on three pillars of giving: Water, People and Communities. State Strategic Impact grants support high-impact projects and initiatives throughout American Water's national footprint.

Below is a list of the grantees from across Pennsylvania, along with details on their respective projects and award amounts:

• Access Services, Montgomery County – Support housing and health goals, promote well-being and increase individual's chances of exiting homelessness ($15,000)
• Abington Area Joint Recreation Board, Lackawanna County – Fund day-to-day operations of Hillside Park, the most used community asset in the Abingtons ($15,000)
• Breakthrough T1D, statewide – Alleviate unmet needs of individuals living with type 1 diabetes through community outreach ($25,000)
• Commission on Economic Opportunity, Luzerne County – Support holiday food distributions ($10,000)
• Community Youth and Women's Alliance, Chester County – Augment food distribution program ($10,000)
• Crispus Attucks York, York County – Help with costs for the 42nd Annual Cultural Thanksgiving Celebration ($5,000)
• Inspired Hearts and Hands, Butler County – Support the Meals Squared program for holiday food box distributions ($5,000)
• Kane Area Community Center, McKean County – Provide funding for Summer Lunch and/or Sneakers for Children programs ($5,000)
• Midwest Food Bank Pennsylvania, Dauphin County – Rescue food that is going to be disposed of and help provide more than 300,000 meals in Pennsylvania ($5,000)
• York County Veterans Outreach, York County – Connect veterans in York with services and resource ($5,000)
