Launched on December 1, 2006, the Invesco S&P MidCap Quality ETF (XMHQ) is a passively managed exchange traded fund designed to provide a broad exposure to the Mid Cap Blend segment of the US equity market.The fund is sponsored by Invesco. It has amassed assets over $5.25 billion, making it one of the average sized ETFs attempting to match the Mid Cap Blend segment of the US equity market.Why Mid Cap BlendMid cap companies have market capitalization between $2 billion and $10 billion. They usually have higher growth prospects than large cap companies and are less volatile than small cap companies. Thus they have a nice balance of growth potential and stability.Typically holding a combination of both growth and value stocks, blend ETFs also demonstrate qualities seen in value and growth investments. The S&P MidCap 400 Quality Index is designed to provide equal-weighted exposure to approximately 800 securities of medium-sized companies in the larger US equity market.The ETF has added roughly 6.3% so far this year and it's up approximately 11.33% in the last one year (as of 06/11/2026). In the past 52-week period, it has traded between $96.01 and $112.77.The ETF has a beta of 0.98 and standard deviation of 18.31% for the trailing three-year period. With about 82 holdings, it effectively diversifies company-specific risk.AlternativesInvesco S&P MidCap Quality ETF carries a Zacks ETF Rank of 3 (Hold), which is based on expected asset class return, expense ratio, and momentum, among other factors.
